DAY BY DAY ITINERARY:
Day 1 - WELCOME TO COSTA RICA . Arrival to the International Airport Juan Santamaria. Meet and Great by our tour guide. Transfer to Hotel Herradura or similar with afternoon at leisure.
Day 2 - SAN JOSE - OSA PENINSULA (B,L,D). In the morning, domestic flight to Palmar Sur and boat transfer to Aguila de Osa Inn. Check in and free time for enjoy the beautiful hotel facilities.
Aguila de Osa Inn is located in Costa Rica 's Osa Peninsula , situated on a high bluff overlooking the Aguitas river with panoramic views of Drake Bay . Reaching out into the Pacific Ocean along the southwest coast, the Osa was once described by National Geographic as one of the most biologically intense places on earth. Encompassing Corcovado National Park and Caño Island , two of Costa Rica 's most prized protected areas, the Osa Peninsula is a priceless natural treasure with an abundance of tropical plants, mammals, insects and over 350 species of birds. No other region of Costa Rica offers the visitor a more pristine, virgin environment to discover. The Aguila de Osa Inn offers visitors to the region a comfortable and private refuge from which to explore the magic and beauty of mother nature in all her glory and complexity. All meals, appetizers at the bar and wine with dinner is included on this package.
Day 3 - DIVING TOUR TO CAÑO ISLAND (B,L,D) . During the morning, first dive tour to Caño Island. Afternoon, free time.
Day 4 -SECOND DIVE TOUR (B,L,D) . A new opportunity to explore the beauty of the underwater world at Caño island.
Day 5 - CORCOVADO NATIONAL PARK HIKE TOUR (B,L,D) . Explore one of the best rain forests in the world with a professional naturalist tour guide. The Corcovado National Park is a combination that many researchers, photographers, and nature lovers have found irresistible. Any of its trails will take you to a mystical forest with trees reaching up to 60 meters home of an intricate system of lianas, insects, epiphytes, birds, and mammals. In its 41.788 hectares, the park contains almost all the native animal and plant species from southern Costa Rica as well as thirteen major ecosystems, from inter-tidal beach sand and rocks to cloud forest. Visitors to the park return with tales of close jaguar sightings, white-lipped peccary herds, and sizable scarlet macaw flocks.
Day 6 -AGUILA DE OSA - SAN JOSE (B) . After breakfast, air transfer to San Jose and check in at Hotel Herradura. Free time for relax or explore the capital city on your own.
Day 7 -ARENAL VOLCANO AND HOT SPRINGS TOUR (B,L,D) . Located 3 hours from San Jose, Arenal is a beautiful cone-shaped volcano rising out of flat, surrounding plains. It is the most active volcano in the country. In the daytime, clouds of ash and smoke frequently billow into the sky. On clear nights, spectators are occasionally treated to eruptions of lava and burning rocks that explode into the air and shower down the cinder cone. Even when it is overcast, the rumblings venting and molten lava glowing through the clouds afford a very special experience.
Leaving San Jose in the morning, we'll be arriving to the Arenal area in the middle afternoon. There, you will have the opportunity to learn more about the culture of the surroundings and its relationship with the volcano. Next, we will visit the Tabacon Hot Springs , where you can relax in the soothing waters and be caressed by the cool night air while observing the stars and the incredible night sky above the volcano. After all this, a great buffet dinner will be served at Tabacon.
The tour includes a visit to the picturesque town of Sarchi, where you will be able to buy beautiful souvenirs.
Day 8 -TRANSFER OUT (B). According with your scheduled flight, airport transfer and good bye. |
